Well, it may be for good, seeing how long it took for this to happen and how genuinely happy both Wizkid and Davido are that it happened. But what fans will still be dying to know is if this development means that we will be getting music from both of them?
Okay, let’s be honest. A collaboration between two of the biggest artists in Africa who have been rivals for so long is a real big deal. Also, they’ve never collaborated before. So a lot of attention is going to be on it, if and only if it happens. But will it really happen? Unlikely.
Firstly, they’re both on the verge of releasing new projects. As a matter of fact, Davido‘s project is all but released and considering how authentic the whole thing looked, it doesn’t look like he was planning to do anything with WizKid.
WizKid, on the other hand, is finally working on his “Made In Lagos” follow-up, which some would agree is already long overdue. The next project, aptly dubbed “More Love, Less Ego
However, this does not mean they can’t get together and do a non-album single. They totally can. Wizkid and Olamide have done it for years, and never really made it to each other’s album.
So, while very unlikely, if there’s going to be a Wizkid and Davido collab, it’s going to be just an unofficial single. Nevertheless, I still think it is very unlikely. I’ll advise everyone not to bank on it, so as not to be disappointed.
Do You Think A Wizkid and Davido Collab Will Be A Hit Or A Flop Like “Ballon D’or”?
