In the past year especially, they ate good, dropped several hits, got on songs with some good guys, and even dropped projects, Seyi Vibez with an EP called “No Seyi No Vibez,” and Shmurda with an EP called “High Tension Vol. 2.”
But just as there’s no denying their career’s going great, there’s also no denying that the quality of their music has declined over the past couple of months. Honestly, it’s getting tiring to keep on talking about it. Especially Bella Shmurda.
These days, you find Bella Shmurda jumping on any instrumental with a groove, and just singing away. These songs have no arrangement, not very amusing content either, it’s all just scattered talks from Bella with melodies that are tired.
Every song they drop, we keep expecting they’re gonna up their games somehow. Well, is “Gbemidebe” with Seyi Vibez that song that restores Bella Shmurda’s cred and continues to push Seyi up the ranks? Not likely.
“Gbemidebe” Ft. Seyi Vibez
It’s interesting to think about how far both Bella Shmurda
“Gbemidebe” is a fast-paced track, a fusion of Nigerian street-hop and amapiano; it’s not very surprising they’d choose a beat like that to collaborate. What’s surprising however is that the time both of them jump together on a song, it is not to drop some street motivation.
Bella Shmurda and Seyi Vibez were able to create a track that would successfully flop though. You ain’t gonna hear this on the radio. Not so much anyway. And it’s not gonna be a groundbreaking one on the charts either. It’s just there.
